Avocado in a chocolate smoothie sounds like a compromise and is not one. It contributes almost no flavor of its own. What it contributes is texture: the fat and fiber give the drink a thickness that ice and protein powder cannot reproduce on their own.

That structure is why this works as a meal rather than a snack. At 555 calories and 2 g net carbs it carries enough fat to hold you through the middle of the day, which a thinner smoothie will not do.

Five minutes and one blender. If you want it colder without watering it down, freeze the avocado in chunks ahead of time instead of adding ice.
